Fabulous – you won’t be disappointed!!
Can’t say enough about this resort. Sakuna Mai is so welcoming, the rooms are huge and amazing with a deck that overlooks the gardens and Laos in the distance. There is a really nice outdoor restaurant/bar, and the food is also amazing! It was unfortunate that we couldn’t stay longer. Anyone planning a trip down the Mekong, it’s the perfect stop.

What an unexpected delight this hotel is an amazing view from a very large and tastefully decorated room. Our dinner was delicious as was breakfast. Mai very kindly organised bus tickets for us the night before then dropped us at the bus station the next day. I would highly recommend this hotel if you would like to have a peaceful and relaxing getaway.More

Bij aankomst werden we direct heel goed geholpen. Direct een upgrade gekregen van de kamers terwijl we daar niet om gevraagd hadden. Maar het was mogelijk, ze hadden erover nagedacht. Verder kamers heel ruim, heel schoon met een mooi uitzicht.
Maar de eigenaresse is een hele lieve vrouw die ons overal mee geholpen heeft! Top!

Excellent hotel – beautiful setting

We stayed here just one night during our 3 month holiday to SE Asia on our way to Laos. However this place is worth so much more than just a stopover. The hotel is of a very high standard, set in beautiful grounds with fantastic views of the countryside. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with a king sized bed, nice seating area and a balcony with a view to die for. It was great to just sit on the balcony, take in the views and of course accompanied by a nice cold beer. The owner and his wife run a great place and were so friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel and we have to say that the food ranked up there as some of the best Thai food we’ve had – and we’ve eaten in Thailand quite a bit. The hotel is just outstanding value for money and if you are in this area give it a try – based on our experience you won’t be disappointed. More
Near 5 Star Resort with great beauty and comfort.
The rooms have a great view of the forrest and Mekong River. Beds and bathroom is as first class as you can get. The food was very unusual and super delicious. The rooms are very large. A unique feature is the teak window that opens into the the bath room and allows you to have a great view of the outdoors while you are shaving or otherwise. All of the furniture is custom made of oiled teak wood.More
Feeling at home in a lovely place with wonderful hospitality
A real family run hotel radiating hospitylity and kindness in every corner. Excellent restaurant with fresh incredients from the garden, great bread, lovely owners, spacious and clean rooms with wonderful view to the Mekong, and much more. We would have loved to stay longer in this peaceful environment while our kids complained when we left. Our big thanks again to Mai and David for the great time we had.More

After finding Baan Sakuna Resort we are staying in Chiang Khong again. This has been a great addition to our touring in the Golden Triangle, as the Resort owner has prepared a delightful setting with the most comforting accommodations. Spacious rooms with the most modern facilities and views. This being said, I can’t forget the delicious foods served and service which they provide!
We are Motorcyclist, as well as the owner and they have many stories to discuss over some cold drinks in the afternoon. If you are traveling through on bikes it is a must stay Resort. Fuel is about 1 minute away which makes things easy in the afternoon prior to arriving.
Waking up to the beautiful sunrise over Laos mountain range directly across the Mekong River is a bonus for all visitors.
I would recommend Baan Sukuna Resort to anyone looking for quality stay in Chiang Khong!

A must if you are a biker as they are a font of knowledge with decades of experience in the area. I will plan future trips to come through here just so I can come back. Highly recommended

Excellent family-run resort overlooking Laos with spacious and super clean rooms. Friendly owners who know the area well, speak perfect English so communication is not an issue if you need any assistance. Definitely the place to stay while in the area, might even be the attraction of the area ! Looking forward to the next visit !
